Must-Watch College Football Games: Week 3 (2010)

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/465791-must-watch-college-football-games-week-3

My Record Last Week: 5-1
My Record Overall This Year: 9-4

While week 3 of college football doesn't have the huge games that week 2 had, there are still some very interesting games. Nebraska travels to Washington to face Jake Locker and Co. in front of what will be a raucous crowd. Iowa has their first real test of the season when they head west to take on the Arizona Wildcats. Alabama and Ohio State should chalk up another win. Only 46 out of the 120 teams in college football remain undefeated. This is the week that the Heisman and National Title pictures will become a lot clearer. Are Auburn, Arkansas, Iowa, and TCU for real? Can Denard Robinson keep up his insane performances? Will there be any major upsets? These are just a few of the many intriguing questions that will be asked tomorrow.
The Week's Top Games (As listed by kickoff times)

12:00 PM ET
No. 12 Arkansas at Georgia
Can overrated Arkansas beat Georgia in Athens? This will be the hogs first test of the year and it should be a fun game to watch. I like Georgia in this game.
Georgia Wins
3:30 PM ETNo. 8 Nebraska at Washington
The best defense in the country takes on, what many call, the best quarterback in college football, Jake Locker. The game is also in Seattle, in what is one of the loudest stadiums in all of the sport. I think the first quarter will be exciting, but that eventually Nebraska's D will take down the Huskie's offense. Taylor Martinez (T-Magic) will come away with a two touchdown or more victory.
Nebraska Wins

3:30 PM ETNo. 10 Florida at Tennessee
Florida Wins
3:30 PM ETArizona State at No. 11 Wisconsin
Wisconsin Wins
4:30 PM ETBaylor at No. 4 TCU
TCU Wins
7:00 PM ETClemson at No. 16 Auburn
Auburn Wins
10:30 PM ETNo. 9 Iowa at No. 24 Arizona
Iowa Wins

Must-Watch College Football Games, Week 2 (2010): "Monster Saturday" Arrives

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/458620-must-watch-college-football-games-week-2

My Record Last Week: 4-3
My Record Overall This Year: 4-3
This Saturday is being called "Monster Saturday," and by looking at the lineup of games, it seems most appropriate.
  • No. 22 Georgia at No. 24 South Carolina (Georgia)
  • No. 17 Florida State at No. 10 Oklahoma  (Oklahoma)
  • Michigan at Notre Dame (Michigan)
  • No. 12 Miami (FL) at No. 2 Ohio State (Ohio State)
  • No. 18 Penn State at No. 1 Alabama (Alabama)
  • No. 7 Oregon at Tennessee (Oregon)
I didn't have much time to put this together, so I just wanted to post my picks. I'm currently working on two more articles that will each be a lot better.
Feel free to comment on whether or not you agree with my picks.

Must-Watch College Football Games: Week 1 (2010)

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/448482-must-watch-college-football-games-week-1

Ah, college football. It's back! And the first week of action has plenty of must watch games and national title implications.
Honorable Mention: Purdue at Notre Dame - 3:30 pm - NBC
- Purdue wins
6. Marshall at No. 2 Ohio State - 7:30 pm - Thursday - BTN

Sure, the outcome of the game is not the question, but will Tressel unleash Pryor? Who will get the carries? How good is this team? Pryor is considered to be by many the front-runner to win the Heisman.
-Ohio State wins

5. San Jose State at No. 1 Alabama - 7 pm - ESPN3
Just to see how the top-ranked team in the nation is looking. Will they score 100 points? Can they repeat?
-Alabama wins

4. No. 15 Pitt at Utah - 8:30 pm - Thursday - Versus

Dion Lewis and Big East contenders travel to Utah to face off in an interesting match up.
-Pitt wins

3. No. 24 Oregon State at No. 6 TCU - 7:45 pm - ESPN
TCU looks to compete for a national title this year, and Jaquizz Rodgers is a Heisman candidate. Interesting watch for sure.
-TCU wins

2. No. 21 LSU vs No. 18 North Carolina - 8 pm - ABC

Saturday Night Football, LSU and North Carolina both could win their conferences. In the Georgia Dome.
-LSU wins

1. No. 3 Boise State vs (essentially at) No. 10 Virginia Tech - 8 pm - Monday - ESPN
Boise State and VT both need a win here to win the national title. Kellen Moore and Tyrod Taylor are Heisman favorites coming into this year.
-VT wins
* Next week I will go more in depth on each game. I know this is very short.

Virginia Tech Football: Why Tyrod Taylor is Poised to Win the Heisman

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/435835-why-tyrod-taylor-is-poised-to-win-the-heisman

The Heisman race is bereft of a clear-cut favorite coming into the 2010 season. Mark Ingram, Terrelle Pryor, Jake Locker, Ryan Mallett, and others are some of the names tossed around, but I think Tyrod Taylor will win this year's Heisman.
Here's why—
Mark Ingram won the Heisman last year as a Sophomore and won the National Title with Alabama as well. However, it's incredibly hard to repeat as the Heisman winner, as there has only been one in the history of college football. Alabama also has a hard schedule and Trent Richardson will probably get more carries this year.
Terrelle Pryor has been called the next Vince Young and had a great showing in the Rose Bowl where he had 338 yds of total offense. However, Jim Tressel's offense is very conservative, and with tons of talent at RB, OSU will probably run a lot this year. Pryor has the talent to win the Heisman, but the offensive playbook won't unleash Pryor unless the Buckeyes get desperate in a game.
Jake Locker and Ryan Mallett both have been called favorites to win this year, but I think Washington won't do much this year and that Arkansas is overrated. Locker has a better chance to win the Heisman, but I still think it's a slim chance. Ryan Mallett is talented, but the Hogs schedule is brutal.
Case Keenum could be the all time passing yards leader in college football when it is all said and done, but his video game performances from the past years have largely gone unnoticed, so I don't see him winning this year.
Matt Barkley should be considered the dark horse this year, I think he has a better chance at winning the Heisman than Jake Locker. Kellen Moore also may have a shot if he has a stellar performance against Virginia Tech the first week of the season.
I don't see Jared Jefferson, John Clay, Garrett Gilbert, Jeremiah Masoli, Jacory Harris, Julio Jones, Andrew Luck, Ryan Williams, Greg McElroy, or John Brantley winning the Heisman, either.
Tyrod Taylor will win the Heisman because I think he can have a great game against Boise State the first week of the season and then beat Miami later in the year. VT's schedule isn't easy, but it isn't killer either.
Tyrod will touch the ball every play and he doesn't have to rely on his receivers to get the ball upfield, but can also scramble for some yards. Look for T-Mobile to call up the Heisman trophy this year. You heard it here first.
